Chris co-wrote (with Arthur Smith) and appeared in the original production of An Evening with Gary Lineker in Edinburgh and the West End. The play was nominated for an Olivier Award and was made into a TV movie starring Clive Owen. He also appeared in his next play, Breakfast with Jonny Wilkinson, which enjoyed successful runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory and in Edinburgh, and was also made into a film, which he was in.

He appeared in his most recent play, Twitstorm, at the Park Theatre. He appeared in the Oscar-nominated Indian cricket epic Lagaan, Once Upon a Time in India, and wrote a best-seller, Balham to Bollywood, about the experience, which he read as a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week and as an audio book.

His face currently adorns the Lagaan ride at the new Bollywood theme park in Dubai. Other writing and performing includes the spoof ‘soccumentary’ television movie Bostock’s Cup for ITV, the films A Man Called Sarge, Bose: The Forgotten Hero, and Poison Arrows, and on television The Preventers, Jellyneck, Harry Enfield’s Television Programme, Absolutely, Paul Merton: The Series, Blind Men, Murder Most Horrid, Dare to Believe, My Favourite Year and Harry Hill’s TV Burp.

Chris has also written three historical novels – The Fun Factory, The Boxcar of Fun and Fun with Flickers – set in the world of pre-WW1 music hall, vaudeville and silent movies.
