Scottish actor Cameron Jack was born and bred into a working class shipbuilding family in Patrick, Glasgow in 1972. In 1992 he received the Margaret Rutherford scholarship to study acting at Mountview theatre school in North London.
Graduating in 1995, he set out on an eclectic career, appearing in everything from multiple West End musicals, low budget British film and Hollywood blockbusters. He first came to prominence with television appearances in the mid to late 1990's, appearing in standard TV fare like 'Taggart', 'The Bill', and 'Lucy Sullivan is getting married'.
In 2011, he was cast in his first feature film role in the final part of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, 'The Dark Knight Rises', playing one of Bane's henchmen. In 2013 he worked on BBC drama 'Waterloo Road' and three brand new TV Sitcoms including 'Man Down'. 2014 saw him appear as Lewis Milton in 'Silent Witness' for the BBC.
2015 was another busy year with appearances in The UK thriller 'Level Up' and the acclaimed Sci FI thriller 'What Happened To Monday' with Noomi Rapace, Glenn Close and Willem Dafoe. In 2016 he appeared in the feature films 'iBoy', 'Death Race: Beyond Anarchy', 'Perfect Skin' and 'Calibre' in which he appeared as Frank McClay. The film was a huge international hit and won the prestigious Michael Powell Award for Best British Film in 2018 at The Edinburgh International Film Festival.
2017 saw him take roles in brand new BBC drama 'Trust Me', International hit 'Outlander' and the BAFTA award winning 'Call The Midwife'. He also filmed one episode of the Sky Atlantic drama 'Patrick Melrose' starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
He joined the cast of long running ITV drama 'Emmerdale' in March 2018 playing Connor in 10 episodes before filming 2 episodes of hit period drama 'Victoria', also for ITV. He appeared as Davy in the Glasgow set short film 'Boys night'. The film was nominated for best short film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2019 and won best screenplay at the Elba Film Festival in Italy, as well as playing and being well received at multiple American festivals including the MINT festival in Montana, The Weyauwega international Film Festival in Wisconsin and The Full Bloom Festival in North Carolina.
Films he worked on in 2018 and due for worldwide release in 2020 include 'Lyrebird' which shot in the UK and Holland and 'Dragonheart: Vengeance' which was shot in Bucharest, Romania.
Now filming 'Cash Truck' directed by Guy Ritchie in London and the US playing Brendan.
Currently in award winning Police/Crime ITV drama 'Unforgotten' broadcasting on Monday 22nd February 2021.
